2 June 2019 It has been a wet start to the month, but a lot of new additions today has taken the total past the 500 mark.

4 June 2019 Rain curtailed my activities until late afternoon, but when I did get out I went up to the highest part of the site and was rewarded with three new plants: Round-leaved Sundew and the two common cotton grass species. Elsewhere the orchids are starting to appear. I don't think I'll find more than one species, but the one that is present is quite abundant.

8 June 2019 After a few cool days it's warmed up again so plenty of invertebrates about.

11 June 2019 Back to the top end of the site again today in the hope of finding Heath Spotted Orchid. I was successful and also found Early Marsh Orchid and Lesser Butterfly Orchid - just one plant of each. On the way down I stumbled across two colonies of Great Sundew, so a very worthwhile outing!

16 June 2019 One of our most easily recognisable hoverflies and a fruit fly responsible for galls on thistles.

20 June 2019 I've added a few more plants to the list in the last few days, but today was a day for invertebrates, with lots of hoverflies and bumblebees around.

28 June 2019 This rather attractive (the adult is quite plain) caterpillar (feeding on Oenanthe crocata) brings the total to 600.
